Our Mission
Our mission is to meet the nutritional needs of Africans in diaspora and others with cutting edge, healthy food options not so common in the traditional specialty foods category, through our offerings; Dezefoods products and private chef service in the convenience of your home. Now, you can prepare authentic traditional specialty foods quickly at home with our healthy and highly nutritional foods, when you purchase our uncooked packaged products. And if you cannot, due to time constraints, we are here to help prepare healthy and tasteful meals in the comfort of your home. Healthier foods shouldn’t mean tasteless and bland. We make healthier alternatives to taste as good as non-healthy foods.
This health-based specialty concept by Deze Foods was inspired out of passion & love for a healthy lifestyle, to mitigate or rescind entirely the unhealthy eating habits amongst Africans and non-Africans. Thus, we make it our business to provide that healthier version of African specialty foods, not readily available to people in the diaspora. Health and nutritional value of foods are at the core of what we do at Dezefoods. Thus, health and taste are woven into every creation at Deze Foods. The African spices used in our products are of medicinal benefits, higher quality, and of course to savor your palate. African spices and herbs used in our creations apart from their aromatic flavors possess several healing properties, such as in the relief of sinus congestion and severe headaches because they are rich in minerals and vitamins. They function as digestive aids, anti-fungal, gas reducer, anti-depressant, etc. Some of these spices also, help control heart rate and blood pressure, and with red blood cell production. Freshly, roasted peanuts are one of the main ingredients in our Ose Oji; rich in proteins which help in muscle building and maintenance, also the fact that it aids in the reduction of cardiovascular disease risks must be a motivating factor to make you want our products. Healthy consumption is our passion and that’s why we provide healthier alternatives.
Ose Oji is one of our products unknown to non-Africans, indigenous to the Igbos in the southeastern part of Nigeria and an extremely important food in the rich cultural practice of the region. It signifies unity in any Igbo gathering, peace and sincerity shown towards guests and as a sign of respect. Thus, most Igbo gatherings, meetings of any sort and traditional weddings can’t be complete without the presence of Ose-Oji to accompany the Kola nuts, Garden eggs, or both in most cases for opening prayers of the occasion. Conventionally, it may be eaten with kola nuts, Garden eggs, or with your choice of foods. Other specialty foods we offer are various kinds of Nigerian soups, which are found on the shop page. We also, offer private chef service, and custom-made specialty foods not listed on our website. We are willing to work with clients to achieve a desired goal. Just let us know what you want and we’ll make it happen.
